Georgette Dumont

Graduate Assistant


Georgette Dumont received her B.A. in Communication Studies from Roger Williams
University in Bristol, Rhode Island, and her MPA from Bridgewater State College in
Massachusetts. She is working on a Ph.D. in Public Administration and American
Government at Northern Illinois University.

Dumont has moved to Illinois from Massachusetts, leaving the ocean for the corn. She
is currently a research assistant for CAE, focusing on farmland conservation and
easement programs.

Dumont’s areas of interest are nonprofit organizations, accountability, communication,
governance, and the utilization of the internet by nonprofit organizations. She coauthored
“Virtual Jungles: Survival, Accountability and Governance in Online Communities”, which was published in American Review of Public Administration in 2005. Once the PhD is obtained, she plans on moving back to the oceanside.
