Description
We compared findings from four AFT surveys of Corn Belt producers who had land entered in the Conservation Reserve Program or who farmed land with conservation compliance plans. While the 1992 survey had 272 respondents, the 1993, 1995 and 1996 surveys each reached from 1,000 to 1,013 producers. The surveys focused on the economics of conservation compliance, the perceived fairness of the program and the extent of compliance. Questions were also included about the CRP and about whole-farm planning. We analyzed changes in opinions over time to help decide future policy direction.
