Description
We set out to quantify the environmental and social benefits of urban fringe farmland in the Chicago area and provide local communities with estimates of the economic value of those benefits to improve local land-use planning. (see notes)

Outcomes
Reports and work with local communities to incorporate values into their land-use planning.The contingent valuation study was recently used by USDA ERS to help predict how much people would be willing to pay to permanently protect farmland.
