The Maryland Center for Ago-Ecology was established in 1999 as a new private non-profit corporation affiliated with the University of Maryland. They announced one award of up to $75,000 in October 1999 to support a needs assessment and survey to help guide their future operations and programs. AFT competed successfully for the grant award. CAE was asked to contribute an analysis of comparable centers throughout the U.S., both through an extensive literature search and through telephone interviews and to help with drafting the survey instrument.
