Fiscal Impacts of Sprawl on Southeastern Wisconsin
Project Period:
6 months 1996-11-01 - 1997-03-01
Principal Investigator:
Mike Peddle, NIU Center for Governmental Studies, Dick Esseks, NIU and Ann Sorensen, CAE
Description
ACEEE and CBE contracted with CAE to analyze road maintenance and public water and sewer costs for the approximately 1600 traffic activity zones in southeastern Wisconsin in 1990. The study region encompassed the greater Milwaukee area. (see notes)
Outcomes
The analyses were incorporated into a larger report authored by ACEEE and CBE. As expected, fiscal impacts were less expensive under a clustered development scenario.
